One Response to “Peripheral Artery Disease – Memorial Hospital, Gulfport, MS”

  1. Thank you for raising awareness about the dangers of PAD. While leg pain is a symptom of PAD, many individuals with clogged leg arteries do not exhibit any symptoms.

Considering that people with PAD are at much higher risk for heart attack and stroke, it is critical that all Americans at high risk for PAD (generally those 60+ and older and those with a history of diabetes and/or smoking).

Many studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of non-invasive ABI screening to identify individuals with PAD. And most medical specialty organizations, including the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology, recommend it among high-risk populations.
