Davina Beacham was already a successful artist, and mother of two boys, when she was diagnosed with Adult ADHD. “It’s not attention deficit as much as attention surplus.”
Thank you, Davina! THank you so much!
I was resisting my diagnosis solely on that base, now I see my therapist nailed it.
(Damn, how did people connect across vast planes figuring out they’re not the only one feeling like a tool in their toolbox was missing before youtube and facebook and web forums?)
none of which justifies the sheer mindboggling, heartwrenching hardship of going through life like that, of course
Thanks for your support Zak. It is nice to know you’re not alone in the world.

U must be a sci- believer
Want my brain for a day? Then decide is it made up or not.
Don’t talk about without any experience.
I know what you mean about feeling different and being “over here” while everyone else is “over there” I was the same way in school too. A’s or D’s
Your boys are lucky to have the support they have. ADHD can turn ugly if it isn’t diagnosed and recognized for what it is.
TAKE CARE, I hope you and family are doing well!

ADHD is not a disorder!
I have never heard that one before. Most people say Harry Connic jr.
your husband look like bob saget
@phct its not a made up disorder, ive had trouble in school for along time….i new all the material but i was still failing. i would even do the homework and not turn it in….but i was very good in math……when other students didnt get some of the material….i and other people with adhd or add have our own was at lookign at the math problem
get over yourself, its made up
omg your……normal
its a made up disorder
i was diagnosed with ADD at a very early age, i was prescribed concerta… it did nothing, this was back in about 2000. All it did was make me crash. I believe this is a made up disorder to sell drugs. As an adult I would say it is hyper focus, and a different way of learning. Try to get on your childs level… become a child and they will listen..eventually they will grow out of this “ADD”. I did grow out of it, I was prescribed everything from concerta, Aderol and ritalin untill i was 12.
for me too with ADD I was the same way with her
I can totally relate!!! I have ADHD too!!
once in my class i got soo bored i caught myself almost sleeping.
We are part of a unique club, aren’t we.
Also enjoyed.
Great video. I can relate….. I can’t tell you how many report cards I received stating, “If Suzy only applied herself….” I’m 54 now and have been taking Adderall for the past year and think it is great…
Thank you! I am all for anything that can help other families. Stay tuned over the next two weeks, because part 2, 3, and 4 of the video series are coming soon.
