The advancement in the field of dentistry has seen the invention of Invisalign clear braces which are dental appliances that use clear custom-fabricated tarys called “aligners” to straighten teeth and gradually move them to their desired location to make the teeth set look proportionate and rightly positioned. The main advantage of Invisalign system is cosmetic as these aligners are made of transparent material and difficult to detect even from a close range. The wearer can therefore mix around in social situations and publicly flaunt their smile without getting conscious about wearing braces. Invisalign sustem also makes it easier for adults to rectify their teeth alignment through these clear aligners (invisible braces) rather than the metal braces which are more commonly worn by children and adolescents. Also these Invisalign aligners are much softer than those used in metal braces and they do not irritate the soft tissues of the mouth.
Invisalign invisible braces are therefore a great alternative to traditional braces to align teeth. Teens and adults especially prefer them to the metal braces. The teeth-straightening process no longer has to mean brackets and metal wires. Invisalign is an excellent way to correct tooth alignment without the embarrassment that can go along with traditional braces.
The dentist will take many pictures and do a bite impression of the teeth. Both of these are used to make a 3-D model of the mouth. A simulation is then done of the way the alignment will take place over time. Finally the custom fitted plastic retainer trays are created to follow the simulation and the position the teeth should be in.
How many trays are needed depends on how much correction and what type of correction of the teeth is required. On average, eighteen to thirty aligners are made for each patient. Each clear aligner is worn for two weeks, then the next aligner in the series is worn for another two weeks. Each one will slowly push the tooth position for the better. This will be done continuously until the teeth are in the correct position. The Invisalign treatment time is about the same as the orthodontic treatment done with the metal braces. Sometimes, the Invisalign aligners can finish the case earlier than metal braces. It is because the whole system is under control by the computer programming. These aligners are worn at least twenty-two hours a day unless the person is eating or the teeth are being flossed and brushed. The constant pressure by the Invisalign aligners help to control the movement.
When the initial aligners are in place, there may be some discomfort at first and about two days are needed before the wearer can get used to them being in the mouth. There will not be the pain that comes with metal brackets and wires in the mouth. The Invisalign clear braces have none of the problems of the traditional braces. These are made of smooth clear plastic with nothing to cause cuts or irritation. No painful adjustments need to be made. The wire braces can now be replaced by invisible braces for straightening those crocked teeth. This has been proven to be an effective alternative by nine out of ten users all over the North America. A dental checkup is necessary to make sure the aligners are doing their job. Unlike with metal braces, these Invisalign aligners can be removed whenever it is necessary.
